Who we are

Katie and Brian are the proud owners of both Doing Dishes locations.  During college and while employed with the State of Florida, Katie developed a love for painting pottery and was a regular at two studios in Orlando and Deland, FL.  Katie worked for the State of Florida for six years after graduating from Stetson University.  After moving back to Jacksonville to be closer with her family, she decided to make a change in her life and wanted to open this studio.  Doing Dishes San Jose opened on July 21, 2004.

Katie and Brian were married in October 2005 and welcomed a daughter, Reagan, in December 2006.  In October 2008, Katie decided that it wasn't enough, just raising a 2 year old and running 1 studio.  She and Brian purchased Achy Breaky Ceramics at the end of October 2008 and was officially opened as a Doing Dishes Pottery Studio on November 4th (We decided to close this studio in January 2016 to concentrate on our other two locations).  Our Saint Johns county location opened in September 2014. We had 6 amazing years in St. Johns but ultimately decided to close due to the Corona Virus Pandemic. We are happy our St. Johns customers have followed us to our San Jose location to continue creating. We hope to open another studio in the future!

We are very lucky to have a great staff that love the studio and customers just as much as we do.  Please, let us know if you have good or bad service.  We want to hear from you.
