Paint Your Own Pottery Studios
At Doing Dishes Pottery Studios, we believe that painting pottery and fusing glass should be fun and relaxing. We are very family friendly studios with a warm atmosphere and a welcoming smile.We have over three hundred pieces of bisque to choose from and plenty of stamps, stencils, and idea books to help you create your perfect, personal design. Once you complete your piece, it will be dipped in a clear glaze and fired in one of our on-site kilns. Your pieces will be ready to pick up in 1 week.

Scout Groups
We love all scout groups and we have packages that fit into any budget. Your group can come paint pottery, make things out of clay or even fuse glass. For scouts, there is even a way to earn patches/badges.
Bring your group to Doing Dishes Pottery Studios for a fun and creative afternoon. Each child will learn how ceramics are made and they will enjoy making a one-of-a-kind piece of artwork.

Field TripsWe have very resasonably priced packages for your school, church or daycare field trip. You come to the studio, or we can come to you. Either way, it is a fun experience for all ages.Doing Dishes will go on location for 25 or more painters.We bring the paints, paper goods, water cups and brushes. You provide the place and the painters.We will write the child's name and year on the back of their piece.All pieces will be ready to pick up in 1-2 weeks.Please call the studio for our field trip prices or to book your event.

Ladies NightWe are the perfect place for a Mom's Night Out, Bachelorette party or a ladies church group function. Come paint with us and you will feel yourself immediately relax. Feel free to bring in your own beverages (wine is allowed) and food. We'll even provide the wine glasses! Call to make a reservation. We may close at 7 during the week, but as long as you have a reservation and arrive by 6pm, we'll stay late while you paint.

Fused Glass
We are the only studio in town that offers FUSED GLASS
Glass fusing is the process of using the high heat of a kiln to melt two or more pieces of glass together.
Glass projects range from $10-$60. The price includes studio time, glass, use of materials, design tools, fusing and staff assistance.
It is so simple, anyone can do it. It makes a great gift and a wonderful piece for your home.

Camps
Summer Camp 2010
We had such a huge response last year, that we are doing it again this summer.
No week long camps, no filler projects, no junk. We are doing 3 - 4 hour workshops, all pottery (or glass), all functional pieces and all fun.
Our classes are 10am-12pm and 1pm-3pm. You can come for the class or come for the day. If you stay for the day, just bring a bag lunch and hang out at Doing Dishes.

Spring Break Camp 2010
Just like our Summer Camp, we are doing Spring Break the same way. We will have 2 Spring Break camp sessions this year.
Session 1: March 29th - April 2nd
Session 2: April 5th - April 9th

Meet the staff
Katie and Brian are the owners of Doing Dishes. During college and while employed with the State of Florida, Katie developed a love for painting pottery and was a regular at two studios in Orlando and Deland, FL. Katie worked for the State of Florida for six years after graduating from Stetson University. After moving back to Jacksonville to be closer with her family, she decided to make a change in her life and wanted to open this studio. Doing Dishes San Jose opened on July 21, 2004.Katie and Brian were married in October 2005 and welcomed a daughter, Reagan, in December 2006. On October 23rd, 2008, Katie and Brian purchased Achy Breaky Ceramics, on Edgewood Avenue on the westide of town. Achy Breaky was officially opened as a Doing Dishes Pottery Studio on November 4th. Please stop in and visit, we are very proud of what we have done to the place.

This is Reagan, the real boss of Doing Dishes. She loves coming to work with her momma. And, yes, we do have a lot of her pottery at home.
Melissa has been with Doing Dishes for over 4 years. She is the manager of the Edgewood studio.
Megan is also a student at UNF. She is the second generation of her family to work for Doing Dishes. Her older sister, Jennie, was our first employee.
Tami is a nursing student at UNF. She is excellent at getting baby handprints.
Amanda is a student at UNF. She is our newest employee.
Heather works at our Edgewood studio.
Bun Bun is our resident rabbit who lives at the San Jose studio. If you see him while you are painting, pet him behind the ears, he loves it!

Dish, Dine, Paint & Wine
The latest in dishing with your girlfriends while eating, painting and drinking your beverage of choice! You don’t have to be an artist! This class is designed for the beginner. You bring the snacks and sips and we'll have everything you need to creat an amazing piece. Our Doing Dishes staff will give you step-by-step instructions to crat our evening project. You can either keep you piece, or give it as a gift. Space is limited, so call to reserve your spot.

Breakfast with Bun-Bun
Join us for our 2nd annual Breakfast with Bun-Bun. We will enjoy some yummy breakfast treats while painting a large Easter egg. After painting and eating, each child will have a chance to sit with Bun-Bun and have their picture taken.
Date: March 27th, 10am-11am
Cost: $18 per painter, price includes a large ceramic egg (which will be glazed and fired), studio fee, a 4x6 photograph of you and Bun-Bun and some yummy breakfast treats. We are taking sign-ups right now for this very popular event. We are limiting it to only 15 children, so sign up today. This event is at the San Jose studio only.
